About Us
After many years of studying the weather, predicting it, recording it, and enjoying it, Lightning White Weather was formed in 2025 with the intent to help others have easier access to diving into the excitement of trying to understand mother nature’s mysteries. We designed and built a weather station data logger that’s equipped with artificial intelligence to produce near real-time weather predictions based off of the current and historic data collected by it. The weather station provides a rich web interface for visualizing and analyzing the data collected and the predictions produced. What makes this station unique is it’s open architecture, which will allow users to modify the station to be pretty much whatever they would like it to be, from adding different sensors, to installing different machine learning and artificial intelligence models, to downloading and adding pre-configured visualization dashboards. This uniquely open architecture lends itself well to being a STEM learning resource. One of our intents is to provide online content focused around STEM topics using the weather station as a platform for hands-on learning for home school families, lifelong learners, DIYers, and weather enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. Additionally, since farming is in our blood, we hope the monitoring and predictive capability can be a valuable agricultural resource. Our goal is to provide a weather station that meets individuals’ current and future needs, while providing exciting hands on learning and exploration opportunities along the way. We are currently in the start-up phases of refining the weather station’s design and developing a product that will meet these goals, and hope to begin selling these stations soon!
